Forks Washington on the Olympic Peninsula

Forks Population Nearly Doubles for Twilight Event

Thanks to the Peninsula Daily News and Paige Dickerson for this local coverage of Stephenie Meyer Day in Forks. The Forks Forum also has some great photos and information already up on their site (thanks Chris Cook!). It appears the event has been a resounding success!

As predicted, the full moon broke through the fog in LaPush just at the right moment. Unbelievable!! It sends shivers down my spine just thinking of it!!

Everyone is having a fantastic time so far. The only complaints heard have been about the lack of vampire sitings this year, but what can you expect with 80 degree (F) sunny weather in Forks?

Thanks to all those who participated in, and contributed to, this event. Special thanks to TwilightMOMs for all of their “above and beyond” help and support! You guys rock!!

Thanks, Forks, for a wonderful weekend! I’m not a Twilighter, but it was a beautiful weekend for a road trip, so I drove up with my 20-something daughter and one of her Twilighter friends. I live on the Kitsap Peninsula, and it’s been years since I was out your way; forgot how absolutely gorgeous it is! We had a great time and really enjoyed all of the locals we chatted with!

Im a long time Forks resident, have raised six children who all went to Forks High School and now have grandbabies. But it doesn’t matter how old you are to be a Twilight fan..I am as crazy over those books as any teenager would be. They are awesome and I absolutely love the attention it has given our litte town. What an experience, not only to see our little town overtaken by twilighters around the world but to actually get to have talk and visit with others around the world who share that same enthusiasm…So for one resident of Forks, glad you love our town and had a chance to visit here and experience TWILIGHT!

WE HAD THE TIME OF OUR LIVES!! We love being Twilighters!!We were impressed how the town really got into the spirit of twilight. We are from Las Vegas, and I brought my daughter to Forks for her 18th birthday. Everyone was so NICE and helpful. Our motel was GREAT and very clean. We met 3 wonderful new friends and would love to have a summer home there. Thank-you Forks and Thank-you Stephenie!! It was a GREAT weekend with GREAT memories!

I just hope all the visitors never become a problem for Forks residents, I’ve seen pics of cars that get twilight graffiti put on them which is removable but i worry in case residents start getting put out. I can’t help wondering how things like the Cullens letterbox don’t get removed by fans but I guess one thing about us Twilighters is our ‘family’ spirit : >

I went to Forks and La Push back in August and something magical happened to me there. The serenity and beauty has changed my life for the better and I can’t wait to go back!

We stopped in Forks on September 8 while on vacation in Washington. We quickly became enthralled with the “Twightlight” mania going on. We now follow activities in Forks. I am sorry we did not get to LaPush!

I will be coming to Seattle some time in December until early January. I cannot wait to visit Forks and I know I can just join one of the city tours, but I wonder if I could have some options. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!! Please email me at nila_rh@hotmail.com
