Most Twilight visitors to Forks usually post some kind of “My Trip to Forks” video on You Tube. Many are fun to watch and usually get viewed by friends and family.
But, I discovered a gem of a video posted by two Twilighters from Texas that will make you want to visit if you haven’t and if you live here it will make you glad you do.
Lexy Schultz and Monique Messman of Austin, Texas are avid Twilight fans. Lexy is the founder of the Austin Twilighters which is a meet-up group for local Twilight fans and Monique runs a Twilight blog dedicated to all things Twilight.
The two visited Forks at the end of April, to celebrate Monique’s birthday. Lexy said, “We booked the whole thing online right down to the rental car! Early AM flight from Austin to Dallas, then a direct flight to Seattle, and then four hours of driving to Forks. It was totally worth it! The drive there was beautiful and the scenery was Breathtaking.”
As you will see in their video they did all the regular Twilight things. They also spent two evenings at LaPush catching the sunset, which appears in their video in time lapse, the two also took a trip to the Hoh Rain Forest, which they describe as the most beautiful sites they have ever seen. As far as coming back? They are planning a trip for next year.

The next chapter of The Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn, is already the cause of many a heart rate rising. Take a look at the latest Twilight pics of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to get even more excited. This latest movie in the 'Twilight' saga is expected to be in theaters in mid-November.
In preparation for the coming of Breaking Dawn, the Forks Chamber of Commerce has unveiled a new shirt in celebration. The "Breaking Dawn in Forks" t-shirt is available in two colors at the visitor center in Forks (1411 South Forks Ave.) and from the on-line store on the chamber website. The shirt is designed in similar native style to companion shirts also available at ForksVisitor Center and on-line store. Sales of items available at the Forks chamber help keep the visitor center open seven days a week!
Lest anyone thinks the Twilight craze has run it's course, the January 4th People's Choice Awards named Robert Pattinson (Edward), Kristen Stewart (Bella), and Taylor Lautner (Jacob) as their favorite "on-screen team" which should dispel that rumor. Twilight Saga Eclipse was also voted by fans as their favorite overall movie and drama. Though the days in Forks are currently dark and wet, fans continue to come see the place that Stephenie Meyer named as their home. The visitor center in Forks continues to greet them (73,000 in 2010) and help perpetuate the fantasy.

Bella's Book truck on left and Movie truck on right
Up until last weekend the Forks Chamber of Commerce visitor center had on display the book version of the truck (ca. 1952) that Bella drives.
During the Stephenie Meyer weekend in Forks on September 12th, the Elwha River Casino held a drawing in Forks at Tillicum Park for a 1963 chevrolet truck. The name they drew (from 35,000 entries) decided to keep $2,000 rather than the truck. Therefore, the casino graciously donated the truck to the Forks Chamber of Commerce. This is the chevy truck that main Twilight character, Bella, drives in the the Twilight Saga movie series. So now the visitor center has both the book and movie versions of Bella's truck. This should cause less confusion now about which truck is which, as the trucks look very different being eleven years apart.

What do Forks Spartans student athletes want rival players and Twilight fans to know? They are Spartans not vampires or werewolves. ESPN's Jim Caple recently visited FHS and interviewed a handful of students and athletic director Kevin Rupprecht. While students are not so happy with their new nicknames, Twilight fans have had a positive effect on the amount of money in the athletic department's budget, through their purchase of Spartan Gear. Thanks to the extra funds there have been no cut backs. Go Spartans!
Media Frenzy- In the last few weeks Forks and surrounding communities have been inundated by media:
KING 5 News Seattle, North Seattle Herald Outlook Newspaper, USA Today Newspaper and Stern Magazine from Germany.
Stern Magazine is the largest magazine in Germany and their story will focus just on the town of Forks. USA Today will be having their article appear a week before the release of the next movie, Twilight Saga: Eclipse. King 5 was here to do a follow-up report based on the “Twilight in Forks” video where some of us residents and visitors were interviewed about the town. So, smile! You may be on camera.

We've held off on commenting about the local Twilight Firewood stand for quite a while now, but we just can't resist. We think it's hilarious! It kind of takes things to a whole new level. And the sharp-looking stand is certainly an attention getter. Although the small print says to burn the "LaPush bundles" to "keep the evil vampires away," we suspect simply throwing pieces of firewood at them would be just as effective. Stock up now!

The "Home of the Swans" sign at Forks' Swan House has been taken! Yes, shocking, but true. We're assuming local law enforcement is all over this apparent "TwiCrime," but if you have the sign--for whatever reason--just leave it at the Forks Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center (1411 S. Forks Ave.) and we'll get it back to the owners. If anyone knows who has the sign, or has information about what happened to it, please contact the Forks Police Department (360-374-2223) and they'll take it from there. Thanks!
Looks like just about everyone in Forks showed up for the casting call for the planned Forks reality TV show. (We're up in Canada, so we missed all of the action!) Check out the coverage at the Forks Forum site and in today's Peninsula Daily News. We're assuming they're not talking about the "real" Forks that we know, so we're curious what, exactly, is planned. Anyone have suggestions for Zig Gauthier, the Santa Monica, California, based television producer behind the project?
Twilight is coming to Showtime next month! And just to keep it real, they stopped by Forks last week to shoot some special local footage to go along with the film when it opens January 23rd at 8:00 pm. This photo shows Forks Chamber Director Marcia Bingham being interviewed by the Showtime crew at our Visitor Center. Sorry about the rain, guys--hope your visit was okay otherwise!
This large sign–prominently located midway between Forks and LaPush–really caught our attention! Even more disturbing were the cars turning around and heading back toward Forks . . .
Seriously, if you’re in the area, be sure to check out Forks Chamber member Three Rivers Resort restaurant’s “Twilight Menu.” Delicious!

MIKE & MARCIA TWILIGHT ACTION FIGURES
This is probably the most incredible thing we’ve ever seen. Seriously!! Yes, it’s our own Marcia Bingham, Chamber Director, and Mike Gurling, Chamber Visitor Center Manager, depicted as action figures. Right there next to the Alice Cullen action figure! It’s almost too much . . . .
