Forks Washington on the Olympic Peninsula

Forks Athletic & Aquatic Club is having their Grand Opening Celebration December 17^th – December 23^rd 2011. There will be specials on rates (monthly and yearly), juice samples from The Juice Bar, facility tours, membership orientations on weights and more. The membership rate during the Grand Opening will be $30 per month or $325 per year. This includes use of pool, weights, cardio equipment and classes. Located on Maple Avenue, the club will feature cardio equipment such as treadmills, exercise bikes and step machines, free weights, resistance machines, spin classes, aerobics and more. The club will be open 24/7 and the pool will be open 5am – 9pm with lifeguards on duty. Locker rooms for men and women, baby sitting in the evenings and The Juice Bar are some of the amenities they offer.

Ruby Swagerty, owner of Forks Athletic & Aquatic Club, said family swim will be offered in the evenings to members. She is contacting local lodging establishments and for a fee will offer day use of the club to visitors to Forks. Ruby has been working in the fitness industry since she was 19 years old and loves teaching people about good health.

Twilight is coming to Showtime next month! And just to keep it real, they stopped by Forks last week to shoot some special local footage to go along with the film when it opens January 23rd at 8:00 pm. It’s a mystery keeping most Forks-area residents up at night–what happened to the gas cap on “Bella’s” truck? Yes, we’re talking about the vintage red truck (and popular local photo-op) that’s usually parked at the Forks Chamber of Commerce’s Visitor Center–located just south of Downtown Forks on Forks Avenue (Highway 101). MIKE & MARCIA TWILIGHT ACTION FIGURES

This is probably the most incredible thing we’ve ever seen. Seriously!! Yes, it’s our own Marcia Bingham, Chamber Director, and Mike Gurling, Chamber Visitor Center Manager, depicted as action figures. Right there next to the Alice Cullen action figure! It’s almost too much . . . .

We get so many interesting photographs from our friends all over the world that we thought we’d try something new.We’re inviting Twilight fans–and anyone else interested in Forks and the West End–to send us a photo of them wearing a souvenir item, such as a t-shirt, for example, .Just to be clear about this, the “West End” is basically the Forks, LaPush, Clallam Bay, Sekiu and Neah Bay areas of Washington State, USA.From time to time, we’ll put our favorite shots online as a blog post.Extra credit will be given for the most exotic or unusual locations involved.Not only will you be world-famous if we use your shot , but we’ll also send those selected a “promo pack” from Forks, with stickers, brochures, maps and other fun Forks/LaPush stuff.

Forks continues to be “front and center” in the area of Twilight tourism!
