Women's Chorale Brings "Voices of Light" to the Northwest
"Voices of Light" is the uplifting musical theme for this year's Northwest Women's Chorale. Songs by familiar composers such as Schubert, Puccini, Rutter, Britten and Richard Rodgers will be performed along with three well-known Christmas tunes in the Chorale's traditional audience sing-a-long. The Chorale is pleased to feature guest flautist Sharon Snel in several works including Paul Halley's haunting "Voices of Light." The theme of "light" is a common thread connecting various selections, yet depending on the origin of the music, is treated very differently. As a special treat, a fun medley of holiday music for flute, horn, and piano by composer/arranger Linda Dowdell will be premiered featuring the concert's instrumentalists.
Directed by Joy A. Lingerfelt and accompanied by Kristin Quigley Brye on the piano, the three year old organization recently gained their non-profit status as a 501 (3) C. This year concert goers can purchase tickets ahead of time at www.nwperformingarts.com or at the door for $10.
The Forks Concert will be on December 13th at 3pm at the Forks Congregational Church, 280 S. Spartan Avenue.
