Forks Washington on the Olympic Peninsula

Forks Featured in Seattle Times

Hey, there’s another feature on Forks and the Twilight phenomena in today’s Seattle Times. The article attempts to weigh the pros and cons when a major pop phenomena involving vampires and werewolves happens in a small logging town–and it includes this fun video. We’re not exactly sure what the down-side of having lots of fun-loving, happy visitors to our community might be. Anyway, we’re loving it!

Interesting article. I think, maybe, I can relate a little to the locals. I live in a small town of about 2500 people here in Kentucky and some of the long time residents aren't too keen on anything changing. We had the same Mayor for 40 years (was elected way before I was even born)! I'm not from there and will always be looked upon as an outsider. I want to visit Forks, not just for the love of the Twilight story, but I think it's beautiful up there. I research your camping and hiking trails and have some of the lovely scenery as my desktop wallpaper! I realize there are no vampires! I do know the line between fiction and reality. It never hurts to feed the imagination though. To me, Twilight was a love story. Although intriguing, I am not fascinated with vampires. Would love to visit your neck of the woods someday! Thanks for appearing to be so welcoming. Kristin--thanks for your kind comments. Our doors are wide-open to you and all Kentuckians! ~Cari
