Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kris Fairbanks’ family. Kris, a Forest Service officer, was killed in the line of duty Saturday, September 20, 2008. This nicely-done KING5 News (Seattle) video piece captures a local perspective on the tragedy.
Even as Kris' closest friend for nearly 40 yrs, I didn't realize the greatness that she beheld until she was gone. But I have to tell you that people like her don't come along very often. I'm extremely proud to have been a friend of such a great woman.
