It’s been a while since we’ve hiked this one, but our memories include climbing sketchy-looking rope ladders, wading in the surf with packs on, running to dodge rising tides and, my personal favorite, my brother being informed by another hiker that he had a live slug in his hair (seriously–and the rest of us didn’t even notice!!) The other hiker’s exact words were, “Dude, do you know you have a slug in your hair?” Don’t even think of doing this hike without some careful research–tide tables and a watch are required, for example.
This article, based on research by Kari Bodnarchuk, who visited this spring, is a useful resource. It’s kind of like a “walk through,” with milepost markers and GPS coordinates, along with other relevant information. Great photos too. Check it out and see you on the trail!!
