Twilight Geocaching

Friday, 17 April 2009 Written by Erik & Cari

Can’t decide how to spend your time in Forks–Geocaching or Twilighting? You know who you are! Here’s the perfect solution: Forks’ newest Geocache has a Twilight theme!! If you’re not familiar with Geocaching, it’s basically a worldwide hide-and-seek game played with GPS receivers. It’s easy (and free) to get started with Geocaching.
This particular cache takes you on a tour of local Twilight hot-spots–gathering clues along the way that lead to the final cache. We haven’t tried the cache yet, but it looks like it will be lots o’ fun. (We’re waiting for it to be even rainier before we try it . . . .) If you do the cache–especially if you’re new to caching–remember to leave the cache in better condition than you find it–watch for muggles, re-hide well and trade up. TFTC Blue Power Ranger!

We've been to Forks a few times, over the past 10 months and every time it's been absolutely sunny, and beautiful!!! We've actually been sunburned in Forks!! Lol. Kallie--shhhh!! Rain is part of our mystique. Let's keep the sunshine low profile!! :D ~Cari

I am looking for information on Geocaching, (can this be a group event?). I have several groups of Australians who want to visit Forks & LaPush. They are huge Twilight fans. What kind of Twilight activities or applicable sights from the movie can they do & see? Help is appreciated. Thanks. Melody--yes, Geocaching can be a group event. As a practical matter, though, not everyone is interested in Geocaching, so it may not be appropriate for all groups. It probably won't make sense unless the person is familiar with how the game works, has a GPS receiver and knows how to use it fairly well. Everything you'd want to know about Geocaching can be found at the links provided in the above post--all from Geocaching.com. For general information about visiting Forks, feel free to contact the Forks Chamber of Commerce at info@forkswa.com or at 1-800-443-6757. Thanks for including Forks in your plans! ~ Cari
