Forks Washington on the Olympic Peninsula

Twilight Comes to Port Angeles

Wednesday, 12 November 2008 Written by Erik & Cari

Why would anyone visit the Olympic Peninsula in November, a month well-known for dark, stormy weather? To be part of the premier showing of the Twilight movie at the theatre closest to where the series is actually set, of course. Duh!!
Port Angeles is planning a host of fun-sounding activities for November 21st, celebrating the opening of the movie at the Lincoln Theatre (virtually next door to the Bella Italia restaurant) in downtown Port Angeles. All the details are in this post from their blog.
If you’re able to attend, plan to make a weekend of it to check out Forks and the rest of the area while you’re here!
11/17/08 UPDATE – Further information, including movie show times, is in this Peninsula Daily News article from Sunday.

People, it's a fictitious character. I feel slightly remorseful for the town as it will just bring alot of 15 year old crazy fans there. (Feel even worse for Rob & Kristin) It's a beautiful town, but I hope that the book series doesn't ruin it's quaintness. I don't resent the books, I quite enjoyed them, but I can differentiate between reality and dreams. It's a beautiful love story. But it's not real. B--Pablo Picasso once said that "Everything you can imagine is real." We don't see anything wrong with imagination and healthy fun--especially in times like these! And don't worry about us--the fans have been great. :-) ~Cari

I've read all 4 books and I could not believe how descriptive they were. A co worker of mine loaned Twilight to me and I admit at first I wasn't excited to start reading it...but once I did, could not put it down. I found myself staying up til 3 in the morning just to get further in the story! Stephanie Meyers is a phenomenal writer, she made all the characters come alive...you can actually feel yourself running through the woods with Edward and Bella or walking along First Beach with Jacob. I believe Forks was the perfect choice for the setting. I live in Upstate NY so visiting Forks will have to be a long work in progress...but it sounds and looks so beautiful from what I've seen that I will have to visit at some point. And yes, I will also admit...I fell in love with Rob Pattinson's character. He's so charming, mysterious, wonderfully romantic, protective...and he knows how to treat a lady. A thing some men have forgotten nowadays. Hopefully a man with those qualities will someday grace my precense. In a nutshell, Twilight rocks! :)

I was a little hesitant at first to read the books, I thought another vampire story big deal, but After reading Twilight and New Moon I have to admit that I've fallen completely in Love with the characters, the story and Stephenie Meyer's description of Forks. I saw the movie and I do have to say it was good. The love Bella and Edward have for eachother is so realistic and unforgettable. Stephenie Meyers does such a wonderful job describing the Love that I felt Bella's pain when Edward left in New Moon and her joy when he returned to her. I can't wait to read the next books in the saga. And I'm looking forward to see all 4 books on the big screen.

I'm a 36 years old living in Sydney, Australia. I saw the film and then immediately afterwards read all four books in four days! whoa, I just love the way Edward loves Bella. I would like to visit Forks someday.
