Here’s early notice–Stephenie Meyer Day 2010 is slated for September 11-12, 2010, in Forks, WA!!
While this year’s event is still in the organizational stages, based on the overwhelming response at past events, we want to make sure everyone has ample opportunity to be here on Bella’s Birthday this year to celebrate with us. Now is the time to make lodging reservations in Forks or LaPush for this weekend–the entire area was booked solid last year. Many fans arrived before the weekend and/or stayed a day or two afterward, to have more time to fully enjoy everything our area has to offer. Whether you've been to every single Stephenie Meyer Day so far or just want to check out something new, everyone is welcome and the event is always a blast. See you there!
Wow! We're speechless after checking out these brand-new MSN Twilight videos (you may have to install MS Silverlight to view the videos). For the most part, they were shot by the MSN crew while they were here in Forks for Stephenie Meyer Day on Bella's Birthday.
The video featured above, Twilight: Land of Legends, presents an interesting perspective of Forks and LaPush. Where the heck did they get some of that creepy footage? Like those girls standing in that dark alley? Or that huge pile of tires at Gilmore's? Seriously, these are truly impressive and very well-done--you have to see them all! Thanks MSN!
Thanks to KIRO TV’s (Seattle, WA) Karen O’Leary for this great video on the craziness happening in Forks, WA this weekend. Cool interviews with many local notables, including the Chamber’s own Marcia Bingham and Mike Gurling.
Thanks to the Peninsula Daily News and Paige Dickerson for this local coverage of Stephenie Meyer Day in Forks. The Forks Forum also has some great photos and information already up on their site (thanks Chris Cook!). It appears the event has been a resounding success!
Photographs are available for anyone interested in Stephenie Meyer Day in Forks on Sept. 13th. In particular, the group photo taken at Tillicum Park in Forks is available for purchase from the photographer that the Forks Chamber of Commerce arranged to be there. Here’s early notice–Stephenie Meyer Day 2009 is happening September 12-13, 2009, in Forks, WA!! While this year’s event is still in the organizational stages, based on the overwhelming response last year, we want everyone (including folks in, um, Arizona . . . ) to have a chance to make plans to be here on Bella’s Birthday to celebrate with us. Now is the time to make lodging reservations in Forks or LaPush for this weekend–the entire area was booked solid last year. Many fans arrived before the weekend and/or stayed a day or two afterward, to have more time to fully enjoy everything the area has to offer.
We are pleased to announce the schedule for Stephenie Meyer Day 2009, taking place right here in Forks on Bella’s Birthday weekend, September 12th and 13th. There are all kinds of events planned of interest to Twilight fans, including a bonfire with authentic Quileute storytelling on First Beach in LaPush, a showing of the new documentary Twilight in Forks - The Saga of the Real Town, and several musical events, including Mitch Hansen Band and Twilight Music Girls. And these fun events and activities are all in addition to the “usual stuff,” like touring Forks and LaPush, sneaking around in dark forests taking pictures and shopping at the many great retail outlets available. See you there!
Things are shaping up nicely for Stephenie Meyer Day Weekend 2009 in Forks and LaPush, which is just over 24 hours away!! There are a couple of things we failed to mention in our last post, so here are some additional tidbits of information. [ALSO, for a Friday, September 11, 2009, update, check out this article from the Peninsula Daily News.]
One exciting addition to the festivities is the appearance of Tinsel Korey, the talented actress playing Emily Young in New Moon. She will be appearing at various locations, including the bonfire with native storytelling taking place in LaPush, on First Beach, Saturday evening. Photo-ops and autographs will be available as part of the event. More information can be found in this article by Paige Dickerson from today’s Peninsula Daily News.
We got a kick out of this article about Forks in New York Times Travel. While the first impression of the article from everyone in town is likely to be “hey, it’s really not a two-stoplight town–it’s a one-stoplight town,”
overall, Jane Margolies does a fine job of capturing the fun of Stephenie Meyer Day and the story of the Twilight frenzy here in Forks. We also enjoyed the slide show of nicely done local photos by Stuart Isett. Articles like this tend to make obvious the fact that Forks isn’t a secret any longer–but fall is a perfect time to visit without a lot of hoopla and Forks, LaPush and the West End continue to welcome all visitors. C’mon up and check us out!
